Neurosurgical therapy procedures and clinical working groups

Interdisciplinarity a key element of our diagnostic and therapeutic concept

Our clinic provides all neurosurgical procedures in close interdisciplinary cooperation with over ten specialist departments.

For example, intensive cooperation with the Department of Radiation Oncology is required for the follow-up care and further treatment of oncology and pediatric patients.
When planning and performing operations on the skull base, it is necessary to discuss the surgical procedure with the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases and possibly perform the operation together.
Coordination with the Department of Neurology and the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine is required for planning and discussing the multimodal treatment of cerebrovascular diseases.
For diseases such as epilepsy and other neurological disorders, there is also an intensive exchange with the Department of Neurology.

In all these tasks, we focus on organizing and participating in various interdisciplinary boards and committees. The Department of Biomedical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy is always involved in discussing the imaging procedures.

The establishment of multidisciplinary boards has ensured that our patients receive individualized treatment based on the latest multidisciplinary research at the earliest possible stage.
