Pituitary Board
Held since 2014, the interdisciplinary Pituitary Board meets to discuss therapies, disease progression and complicated pathologies related to the pituitary gland.
In this conference, an individualized multimodal therapy concept or the further treatment plan after the neurosurgical procedure is drawn up for our patients.
Involved are colleagues from the following Departments and Divisions:
- Department of Neurosurgery
- Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism
- Department of Biomedical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy
- Department of Neurology / Division of Neuropathology und Neurochemistry
- Gamma Knife Radio Surgery
In addition, the Pituitary Board meetings also ensure that patients have access to new and promising therapies and studies at the earliest possible time. The establishment of the Pituitary Board at the Medical University of Vienna has already led to an improvement in the care of patients with difficult-to-treat pituitary adenomas.
